Who we are

The Alberta Association of Audiologists is here to be the unified voice of audiologists in Alberta. Our goal is to support audiology in the province to enhance the quality of life of Albertans, and to advocate for audiologists practicing in Alberta.

What is an Audiologist

An audiologist is an autonomous professional and a primary provider of hearing health care. An audiologist holds a Master's or Doctorate degree in audiology and is regulated by the Alberta College of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA). ACSLPA ensures that each registered audiologist meets stringent professional and ethical standards. Audiologists have a scope of practice defined in the Alberta Health Professions Act  and the Speech-Language Pathologist and Audiologist Profession Regulation. Audiologists work in a variety of settings including public practice settings such as schools, hospitals and community health centres, as well as private practice settings and universities. Audiologists provide a wide range of professional services . Audiologists are also qualified to certify hearing impairments for both federal and provincial funding agencies.
